About Us

The Story Behind Currents of Care

Our world has no shortage of ways to divide us.

Every day, we’re pulled into noise, outrage, conflict, and distraction. We’re encouraged to choose sides. To react. To argue. To resent.

And somewhere in the middle of all that noise, something deeply human gets lost.

Connection.

Currents of Care was created as a quiet alternative to that noise.

The Moment that Sparked It

In 2023, a creator named Sean Webb posted a video asking his followers to send healing energy to the wife of a Navy SEAL friend who was in the ICU. It was a simple request:

Send love.
Send white light.
Send healing energy.
Send whatever positivity you have.

Three days later, he posted an update — her condition had improved.

That moment stayed with me.

Years later, in January 2026, those videos unexpectedly came back to mind. And shortly after, I found myself in the emergency room with an infected wound on my foot. Doctors feared the infection had reached the bone. Amputation was discussed as a real possibility.

After being admitted, I sent a text to a small group of friends asking them to send me healing energy with one focused intention:

“His foot is whole.”

The next morning, an MRI showed the infection had not reached the bone. I was discharged.

When I saw the wound again, it already looked significantly better.

Was it medicine? Absolutely.
Was it timing? Possibly.
Was it collective focused intention? My personal experience says, "Yes".

That experience changed something in me.

My name is Honua Maikealoha, and I am the creator of Currents of Care.

What the Research Suggests

Scientific findings across disciplines point toward interconnected influence:

  • Studies on social support and health outcomes show that patients who feel supported experience faster recovery and lower mortality rates.¹

  • Research on heart rate variability (HRV) demonstrates that coherent emotional states improve physiological regulation.²

  • Work in psychoneuroimmunology shows that emotional states influence immune response.³

  • Research in placebo and expectancy effects reveals that belief and perception measurably impact physical outcomes.⁴

  • Studies on emotional contagion show that human emotions spread through networks — even digitally.⁵

.

What the Experience Suggests

My experience and the experiences of people from around the world, references from dozens of spiritual writings spanning the last 6000 years, the seemingly supernatural abilities embodied in people like Charlie Goldsmith point toward interconnected influences:

  • Experience suggests that focused attention matters

  • Neuroscience tells us that where attention goes, energy flows.

  • Ancient traditions have said the same thing for thousands of years in different language — prayer, meditation, intention, collective consciousness.

Whether you see this through science, spirituality, or simple human empathy, the principle is the same:
When people focus care toward someone in need, something shifts.

Humans are not isolated systems. We influence each other’s nervous systems, stress responses, and emotional states.
This is biology — not mysticism.

If stress spreads, calm can spread.
If fear regulates groups downward, Love regulates us upward

Sometimes it’s measurable.
Sometimes it’s emotional.
Sometimes it’s subtle.

Whether through research, personal experience or the simple pureness of belief...

It all matters.

Currents of Care is a growing community of individuals who are willing to pause — even for just two minutes — and direct love, healing energy, light, and positivity toward someone in need.

On this website and through our various social media accounts and channels, we share real stories of real people facing real challenges.

We invite you to stop.
Breathe.
Focus.
Send care.

No argument.
No agenda.
No ideology.

Just intention delivered with attention.

When updates are available, we share them — because healing should be witnessed and celebrated together.

And for those who want to help even more people, additional requests can be found here.

If you or someone you love needs support, you can click here and request care at any time.

What Currents of Care Is...

What Makes this Different

This isn’t about performance.
It’s not about spiritual superiority.
It’s not about replacing medical care or professional help.

It’s about adding something powerful that costs nothing: the energy of collective human intention.

Every person who participates becomes part of a larger current — like individual lines of energy forming something stronger together.

One person sending care is meaningful.

Hundreds or thousands sending care? That becomes powerful current of care.

We live in a time when division spreads faster than unity.

Currents of Care exists to tip the balance. Not through debate. Not through outrage. But through presence.

Through people choosing, even briefly, to send something good into the world to benefit people facing real challenges.

The mission of Currents of Care is first and foremost to remind people that they are not alone in their hardest moments.
We will accomplish this by replacing the noise of division and fear with a global current of compassion.

To prove that small acts, done collectively, can make a real difference.

Followers and subscribers help spread the word about Currents of Care.

But ultimately Currents of Care isn’t built on followers and subscribers, it’s built on moments in the lives of people we'll never meet.

Moments of intention.
Moments of compassion.
Moments where love becomes movement.

And those moments matter.

Connection regulates.
Attention influences.
Support matters.

Currents of Care is an exploration of the possibilities.

Quietly.
Respectfully.
Together.

Be a part of it!

Science Advisory

Currents of Care references research from established fields including neuroscience, psychology, psychoneuroimmunology, heart rate variability research, and social support studies.

These areas of research demonstrate that:

  • Perceived social support correlates with improved health outcomes.

  • Emotional regulation influences physiological stress responses.

  • Psychological expectancy can influence subjective and measurable experience.

  • Emotional states can spread through social networks.

However, no scientific consensus establishes that collective intention or focused attention alone directly produces specific medical or physical outcomes.

Currents of Care does not claim to cause healing, guarantee results, or replace evidence-based medical care. The platform exists to facilitate moments of collective attention, encouragement, and compassion within a voluntary community setting.
